In the late 1980s, three young men—Pak Ramlee, Datuk Samy, and Tauke Tan—left their hometowns, embarking on a journey to Kuala Lumpur in pursuit of a better future.

Despite coming from different backgrounds, their paths converged when they joined the same company. Strangers at first, they soon became close friends, bonded by their shared aspirations. Together, they played football and enjoyed meals at mamak stalls. They experienced Malaysia’s “Golden Age” of economic prosperity and weathered the struggles of the global financial crisis, their friendship strengthened by the ups and downs they faced.

Over the nearly 40 years of their friendship, many admired the strong bond between these three men. Though their diverse backgrounds sometimes led to conflicts, their friendship endured, rooted in mutual respect and tolerance.

By 2022, the three old friends often found themselves reminiscing about a bygone era, lamenting how the tastes and values they cherished seemed to be fading. It was this shared sentiment that led them to co-invest in a restaurant, DuluKita, a place that celebrates authentic Malaysian flavors and connects people to the food memories of the past.
